This article is about MKU School of Engineering Fees Structure; Also known as School of Engineering, Energy and the Built Environment at Mount Kenya University. Mount Kenya university is one of the best universities in Kenya and offers many programs including online classes. Here is a general fee structure of the entire range of courses offered at MKU. MKU School of Engineering has two departments namely;

  • Department of Energy and Environmental Engineering
  • Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering


a) Department of Energy and Environmental Engineering

Degree in real estate management

Requirements for admission

KCSE C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in Mathematics, English/Kiswahili, Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Accounting/Commerce/Economics, Geography/Agriculture/History/Building/Drawing and Planning/Carpentry

OR Relevant qualification/diploma recognized by the University Senate

Fee

8 semesters Ksh. 54,550 per semester. (Regular program)

Bachelor of Petroleum Exploration and Production

Requirements for admission

KCSE means grade C+ with C (Simple) in Mathematics, Physics/Physical Science, English/Kiswahili or Geography or diploma in a relevant field

Fee

8 semesters Ksh. 54,550 per semester (full-time, part-time)

Degree in Energy and Environmental Technologies

Requirements for admission

KCSE means grade C+ (plus), C (simple) in mathematics, physics/physical science or geography, English/Swahili or diploma in a relevant field.

Fee

8 semesters Ksh. 54,550 per semester (regular and weekends)

Master of Science. Renewable energy and environmental engineering

Requirements for admission

Bachelor’s degree with 2nd class honors Upper Division or Lower Division with 2 years relevant work experience

4 semesters Ksh. 59,550 per semester (regular and weekends)

b) Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Requirements for admission

KCSE C- (Minus with at least C- (Minus) in Mathematics and Physics/Physical Sciences

3 academic years, Kshs 29,550 per term (regular/part-time)

Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Requirements for admission

KCSE C- (minus) with C- (minus) in Mathematics and Physics/Physical Sciences.

Degree in Information Technology and Electronic Systems

Requirements for admission

KCSE Average grade C+ with C+(plus) in mathematics, physics/physical sciences
