How To Amend NHIF Existing Membership

This article is about how to amend NHIF Existing Membership; a guide on how to change your existing NHIF membership. Registered members of the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) can change the beneficiaries of their card. When editing, you may want to include your wife, husband, baby, etc.

How To Amend NHIF Existing Membership

Provision of this service is available from any NHIF office or Huduma Center in Kenya.

Requirements

• NHIF number
• original identification
• A duly filed amendment document
• Applicable documents attached

Note:

1. To enter the spouse’s name for the first time, even after a member is already registered, copies of the identity document for
   Member and spouse required.
2. To change the spouse’s name, the following documents will be required:

• Identification copies for member and spouse
• Marriage certificate/Affidavit from the Court of First Instance
• Death certificate (if spouse is deceased)
• Divorce certificate (if divorced)

3. Visit the nearest NHIF branch
