This article is about registration fees for Veterinary Professionals In Kenya. All veterinary professionals wishing to practice in Kenya must register with the Kenya Veterinary Board.
- The Kenya Veterinary Board is a state board of veterinary surgeons and veterinary surgeons (VSVP) established in 2011.
- The Council was established on February 14, 2012, in accordance with the directives of Article 4 (1) of the VSVP Act.
The Council is mandated to oversee and regulate the education, activities, practices and services of veterinary surgeons and veterinary specialists in Kenya.
Registration requirements
The application form can be downloaded from the board website www.kenyavetboard.or.ke.
These documents must be attached to the completed application form.
- Academic certificate (no result sheet).
- Professional certification.
- National Identity Card/Passport.
- Passport size photo.
- Trade Union Registration Form.
Registration is mandatory for veterinary professionals who wish to practice in the country.
Registration is open to the following veterinary professionals:
- Foreign Veterinary Surgeons (temporary registration)
- Veterinary Surgeons / Veterinarians
- Cattle breeders
- Veterinary clinics and organizations

1. Fees to act as a professional in veterinary medicine
Fee: Ksh. 20,000, payable every five years.
- Fees to practice as a veterinarian
Fee: Ksh. 3,000, payable annually.
3. Registration / retention fee as a veterinarian
Fee: Ksh 4,000, payable annually.
4. Fees for temporary registration as a pet breeder
Fee: Ksh. 1,000, paid once.
- Fees for part-time registration as an animal health trainee
Fee: 500 Kshs, paid once.
- Veterinary Technician Registration/Retention Fee: Veterinary Technician
Fee: Ksh. 2,000, payable annually.
7. Veterinarian Registration/Retention Fee: Veterinarian
Fee: Ksh. 1,000, payable annually.
- Fees for temporary registration and retention of veterinarians
Fee: $1,000, paid every two years.
