Magereza Sacco was registered in 1971 and attracted its members from prisons, including prisons, children’s homes, immediate families of employees of these companies,
parastatal organizations with a reduced wage system and other government departments.
The Sacco provides members with both savings and credit services.
To date, it has more than 22,000 active members and a turnover of 596 million shillings. With an asset base of more than 7.08 billion, Magereza Sacco is one of the largest deposit companies in Kenya.
Magereza Sacco Eligibility
A candidate is accepted as a member when approved by the Board of Directors. A membership fee of Kshs 500 is paid upon admission. Members get many benefits that are not available anywhere else.
